Chapter 1 part 2

A- Very skilled.

=Dyskt came up from the hearth and sat on the couch with Araedyr=

D- Now, believe we owe explainations.

I finally reach the river. And if i was honest. It scared me. We'd have rivers in the forest, but nothing this big. I didn't even know what to do here to cross it. The rivers in the forest could normally be jumped. At least it didnt seem too fast, and i was hardly carrying much on me. I took a deep breath, unsheathing my daggers and holding them up high above me before wading in slowly.

OUCH.

It was cold. Very. Very. Cold.

=Dyskt looked at the fire going in the Hearth=

D- The World... History... Not all how you know it to be.

Are there things we don't know? Or just have wrong? What?

A- There are many things you do not know, many things you know wrong. I will explain.

=Araedyr clears his throat a bit=

A- As you are no doubt aware, there are many different races of the world. Five which are known as the "Great Races", the Humans, Romanii, Revaer, Sek'ishk, and Cubi. Then there are the two Lesser Races, the Rohgedyn, and we, the Skarrn. A thousand and a half years ago now, our peoples came into existence. The Rohgedyn, born of the Revaer and Romanii, and we born of the Revaer and Sek'ishk.

=He itches his nose slightly=

Before the war began, both our races desired lands of our own, such that the Great Races of the world had. But the Great Races would not grant us such a thing. The Skarrn of the time were content to live as they had before, barely thinking themselves a separate race. But the Rohgedyn.. They were too stubborn. They began a war with the Great Races on the continent of Irth, attacking villages and murdering countless innocence, a show of their strength and will. They would fight to be independent of the other races. The Skarrn were especially hunted, as the Rohgedyn felt betrayed by us for not aiding their cause. So we made a pact.

=His nose twitches a bit=

In exchange for peace with the Rohgedyn, we would take responsibility for the attacks, and the Rohgedyn would flee to Deepwood, never to be seen again. When the Great Races began to hunt us for the crimes we claimed, we fled into caves and underground tunnels all over Irth. Over many countless years, we would dig out these tunnels, link them, and form our own nation beneath the ground. But, our ancestors delved too deep. They came upon that which we now call the Hkk, a stone of magical properties which made us as we are today. It morphed the Skarrn into bestial creatures, but perfectly fit for life underground. Thick fur to protect from the cold, long noses and excellent night vision to navigate our tunnels, as well as other changes.

=He pauses=

A hundred years later, we extended our tunnels to Deepwood, and emerged on the surface once more to reunite with our ancient cousins, in the hopes that we would be able to work and live together as we had before. But they did not remember. They had become savage animalistic creatures. They dubbed us the Nightkin, monsters, and hunted us down for food and sport. Infuriated with the Rohgedyns' betrayal, we began to plan. The greatest minds among us came together in the first Elder Council, and elected the first Lhorrn, or leader of the Skarrn. He was the one that proposed the Ill Plan, and wrote the Prophecy.

=Dyskt handed the group a small bottle filled with a greenish fluid=

D- Drink this. You'll need it.

A- The Ill Plan states that one day, when the Great Races have fought eachother to exhaustion, the Skarrn will return to the surface, and unite the world under one banner. The Prophecy tells that there will come messengers, a group comprised of each Great Race, to signal the time when the Ill Plan will be set in motion. It also tells that the Rohgedyn will try to stop the plan, and see the world continue its everlasting war. We have reason to believe that you may be the ones told of in the Prophecy, the messengers of the Ill. If you are, then we have much to do...

=i put up a hand=
A prophecy? You're helping us because of a prophecy?

=Araedyr addressed the Romanii that spoke first=

A- Less so than you might think. We have agents on the surface of the world, and they do keep us informed of all its happenings. We feel that now is the time to go forth with the ancient plan. The fulfillment of the Prophecy may prove mere coincidence. Only time will tell...

=gets a kink out of his neck as he waits=

Well, I'm up for it. When do we start?

D- You should rest before departing. Araedyr will guide you tomorrow.

=Xazhi looked at the two Romanii, then back to the two Skarrn=

=i nod=
Okay, then where do we rest?

D- You may stay here if you wish.

=Araedyr turned to the Romanii who spoke second and adressed him=

A- What questions do you have, if any?

A- That same question has come up in council many times before. All races would be united under the banner of one world, the free world.

=Araedyr was about to speak, when Dyskt spoke up=

D- We speak more tomorrow. For now, rest. Much to do, little time.

=sighs=

Yes, but where is here. I'm not seeing any beds around, right now.

I walked the lands of Irth for some time, delving in dungeons of unknown, in search of treasure and other riches.
After walking through green plains for a few days, I saw a treeline off in the distance, presumably the edge of Deepwood, one of the largest, if not the largest forest in the world today. I breath in the air and continue walking towards the thick trees.

=i walked in, keeping Meris tight around my arm=

=I come up to a gate. I look through and see another one, as well as the weapons, on the otherside of two more gates. I look around and see a series of ropes=
